Katsina To Empower Women With Loans

Katsina state government has prepared to secure various loan schemes and health care packages for women with a view to empowering them, the permanent secretary ministry of women affairs Hajiya Talatu Nasir, said. Speaking after been conferred with a merit award as icon of nation building by the northern publishers, Hajiya Talatu said women need to key into the administration zeal in uplifting the living standard of women in the state.
Talatu said government was committed towards addressing issues of women who were among the vulnerable in the society, saying that women must be vanguard of championing the agitation for better education for their children and women empowerment. She said the ministry had embarked on a sensitization program for women on the need to participate fully in immunization exercise. While calling on women to take advantages of the opportunities being offered by the present administration towards uplifting the plight of women, she said the ministry would collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address women’s challenges. Earlier, the president of the northern publishers, Mohammed Awwal said Talatu Nasir was honored for the exemplary qualities she had exhibited over a period of time that greatly impacted on the well being of women in the state.
