His Excellency The Executive Governor Of Katsina Celebrate Gani Festival With Daura Emirates Yesterday At The Katsina Goverment House.

The "Gani Festival", was a culture of the Daura emirates which was being celebrated yearly and in a situation where the Executive Governor was absent during the festival at ancient city of Daura, normally the Emir of Daura will follow him back to Katsina State Government House for paying special homage on behalf of his humble self and people of Daura Emirate. The courteous visit is traditionally inherited since the colonial administration which is still being practice by the traditional rulers of Daura.
The "Gani Festival" as was defined by the present Emir of Daura, HRH Umar Faruq Umar, its an annul general meeting between the traditional Rulers of the Emirate for discussion and deliberation on arising matters within their localities of domain, being the Emir of Daura as the chairman of the meeting.
During this visit to KTGH On the 09-january,2016, the Emir of Daura was in company of different traditional Rulers and other high ranking personalities from Daura Emirate.
Speaking at the occasion by the Emir of Daura, lauded the splendid efforts of H.E in taking the state to higher level of development, thanks him profoundly for the Daura Motel Renovation Exercise, which he described will be of immense benefit to the people of Daura and guests that normally comes to Daura for tourism, for it being the ancient town with full of tourism attraction. Henfourth, he thanks H.E for awarding the ongoing construction of Tar Road that links Sandamu, Baure and Babban Mutum. Renovation and construction of new classes to some number of Primary Schools and the renovation and upgrading the General Hospital Daura.
The Emir of Daura, therefore, asked the KTSG intervention for Daberan Dam and Songhai Initiative Centre Daura to be put in function.
Lastly, he urge the KTSG to sought out other sources of generating revenue for the state in considering the fact of what the state is getting as Federal Allocation which is 1/3 of the what it got in the past administration.
Governor Masari, thanks HRH (Dr) Umar Faruq Umar and his entourage for the visit and forwarding the needs of his people to government which he described as good representation. Masari disclosed that, KTSG is ready to work hand in hand with the traditional rulers in the aspect of development and transformation to this great state. He therefore gave an assurance of the KTSG would do its best in applying all necessary and possible means to improve the well-being of the people of Katsina state.
