MISSING THE IRONY OF WHOSE KIDS ARE LUXURIATING IN PRIVATE SCHOOLS. - GIMBA KAKANDA

We are missing the irony of people whose kids are luxuriating in private schools, some of them exclusively elite, attacking Malam Nasir El-Rufai's audacity to redeem public primary schools in Kaduna State. There are occasions we should cite economic conditions in protesting an unpopular policy aimed at redeeming a long-endured horror, but that sentiment doesn't apply to the education of our children, the generation we wish to be better than us, to be better educated at least. El-Rufai may be notoriously divisive, many times arrogant for a leader in a democratic space, but this weeding of semi-literate teachers is long overdue, and it's one of the rare moments I agree with his style. A compromise in the education of our children should never ever be a subject of advocacy, never be tolerated. Primary schools should've been the most important aspect of any efforts to develop and sustain useful human capitals, and so it should be both of high quality and, importantly,

DR. BUGAJE: THE POLITICS AND REALITY OF "GOOD GOVERNANCE" - Maiwada Dammallam

Image
By the minute, the objectives of the Katsinawa conveners of the Kaduna "APC AQIDA" summit is being given a much clearer perspective than the glib allegation of non performance placed on the doorsteps of Governor Aminu Bello Masari which the group earlier gave as their objective for the Kaduna 'strange bed fellows' summit. The sustained follow-up attacks on President Buhari and Governor Masari by leading members of the group; attacks mostly laced with purpose built albeit, poorly concocted innuendos, insinuations and unfair fabrications when viewed critically, were simply meant to create disharmony and generate negative perception against President Buhari and his close allies to sway political sympathy from them and possibly achieve power by dubious rather than pure democratic means. I intend to highlight one of such efforts recently released to the public via the Blueprint print media. It was a paper written Dr. Usman Bugaje and delivered by one Dr. Yima Sen, desc

The Reflex Political Miasma & The Motive Behind The APC (Akida) Faction In Katsina State.

Image
Deep within me, I weep not for any other thing but for the fact that, Elders from the "Akida" faction are behaving very badly, and as well the use of a vuvuzela tone by one member of the Akida faction. Whom at his age should leave a life worthy of emulation, serve as role model to we the up coming generation but am afraid at this point in time, the level of sycophancy is unbearable as he is fighting the will God. They need help and prayers. All these people with their own selfish interests, but not offering any suggestion to support the government to deliver good infrastructure and services to transform the state. Politics of vendetta against individuals especially, Gov. Masari and the Mamman Daura's is more important to them than the unity of our people. Everyone who's still in the (APC) and from Katsina State who have the love of the State and that of Gov. Masari at heart should be able to open his eyes to reality than embarking on sycophancy. This selfish/s

THE PHANTOM IDEA OF A QUIXOTIC MASARI/MANGAL COUP AGAINST BUHARI - Maiwada Dammallam

Image
Much as I find it reasonable to expect and ignore absurdities or even outright nonsensicalness, it's important to address a rather outlandish article making rounds on the internet. Titled "The Aminu Masari, Dahiru Mangal Political Coup Against Buhari", the article, written by a pseudo-Muhammad Galadanchi was the highest display of insensitivity to logic and common sense on one hand and the worst display of political desperation on the other. From the first paragraph of the lengthy albeit, directionless piece, it was obvious the objective of the writer was to create a problem where non exist. In the same manner "Galadanchi" (or whoever was behind the mask) strived to sell conjecture as facts, let me strive unravel the conjectural thesis of the masked writer for the benefit of the gullible who may fall for the flowery grammar and verbal acrobatics adopted by him/her with specific intention of hiding the dearth of substance evidently clear in the piece. Scandals In Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA)

Image
There is crisis brewing in the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), as the former Managing Director, Engr. Peter Egeotomegbe Ewesor, whose 4 years tenure expired on 10th September 2017, has refused to hand over to the most senior officer, Engr. Ali, as directed by the Permanent Secrerarny, Mr. Edozien. Ewesor has insructed his Secretary to lock up his office, and not allow the Acting M.D. access to official records in her possession, without his consent. Furthermore, he has insructed his Secretary to delete all soft copies of official government records in her computer, and also directed his Special Assistants, Engr. William Meteh, and Enamosah not to relinquish government files with them. To date, Ewesor and his aides have not deemed it necessary to return official vehicles in their possessions. And has repeatedly boasted of his return as M.D. to NEMSA. He has carried on disrespecting the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Mr. Edosien. It is believed

Governor Aminu Bello Masari Condoles With The Family Of Engr. Mahmud Kanti Bello.

Image
"It is with total  submission to the Will of Allah (SWT) and deep sense of loss that I received the sad news of the death of Engineer Muhammadu Kanti Bello today in the morning. "The death of Engineer Kanti, as he was fondly referred, is a big loss not only to his family or Katsina State but to Nigeria as a whole in view of his tremendous conribution, both as a renown engineer and a sound politician, to the development of Nugeria. "A renown engineer, under whose leadership as pioneer General Manager, Katsina Steel Rolling Company (KSRC) peaked as the leading steel rolling company in Nigeria, late Kanti has also left indelible marks on the nation's political map. "As a two-term Senator of the Federal Republic, Engineer Kanti had made Katsina, the North and Nigeria in general proud by his robust and eloquent contributions on many germane issues in debates on the floor of the Senate. "A highly patriotic Nigerian, he was very passionate about Katsina

Just In: Katsina State Government Has Paid 50% Of The Unpaid Foreign Students Scholarship Left By The Previous Administration.

The Katsina State Government, under the able leadership of His Excellency Rt Honourable Aminu Bello Masari has so far settled N512,386,750.17 (Five Hundred and Twelve Million, Three Hundred and Eighty Six Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Naira, Seventeen Kobo only) out of the over N1,024,773,500.34 left unpaid on foreign scholarship by the previous administration. This was made known by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Higher Education Professor Badamasi Lawal Charanchi in his office while debunking mischievous insinuations that the Governor Masari led administration has cancelled all foreign scholarship programs initiated by the previous administration. He further stated that the payment is in respect of all fees and allowances up to the year 2018, while the balance will be paid in the same year. He added that the state government deserves commendation for achieving this feat at a time when other states have cancelled the scholarship programs and withdrew students fro

RE: CRISIS IN KATSINA APC A HEAD OF 2019 - Maiwada Dammallam

Image
Reading a very subjective opinion published by Daily Nigeria which debated the electoral chances of some states (one of which was Katsina State) come 2019, I had to conclude that either the opinion was entirely that of the author or the account of Daily Nigeria must have been hacked and compromised. Known for being analytical and factually persuasive, the mentioned analysis was nowhere near what normally comes from the incisive Daily Nigeria. It doesn't make sense for one to allocate valuable time disputing imaginative opinion formed largely by surfing through the social media or listening to physical agents of hearsay. The author of the rather unscientific analysis under review should have been a little less officious and more pragmatic than an average social media 'analyst'. There's nothing embarrassing in the Mashi/Dutsi by-election unless one look at it from the perspective of the "Jackboot style" of the PDP which makes a ruling party a default winn

The Hopeful NYCN President, Comr. Abubakar Barde To Fellow Nigerian Youths.

Image
From the Desk of Abubakar Barde Presidential Hopeful NYCN. 12th August, 2017 Today marks the International Youth Day on the United Nations' Calendar. Despite everyday being a Youth Day, I believe there is hardly any theme through the years that fits Nigeria's impending issues as that of 2017 "Youth Building Peace". Nigeria's peace and unity have been strained by different ideologies, agitation and events; all of which  either youths champion or are influenced to do so. Whatever the case, nothing good or bad can see the light of day in any nation if it does not have the backing of the youths. It is on this backdrop, that I implore us to withdraw all our support to any movement or ideology that is bent on tearing this nation apart. It is no coincidence that the not too young to run bill has been passed into law, it is an indication that time has come for us to lead as we have been following. With youths building peace, the future is in better hands. Build t
