Mallam Mamman as he is fondly called is a first class graduate of Economics from the University of Hull in England. He was recruited as Editor of New Nigerian Newspapers (NNN) Limited by
Mallam Adamu Ciroma (then MD of the
Company).

He later succeeded Mallam Ciroma as
Managing Director of NNN, arguably the bestnewspaper in the country in the 1970s. Later on he delved into the private sector. Along with industrialists like Alhaji Lema Jibrilu he founded and was also Executive chairman of the
Kaduna Furniture and Carpets Company (KFCC) that specializes in export of medical furnitures, supplying furnitures to hospitals in countries likeSouth Africa and Cote d'ivoire, etc.

He is a thinker which explains why he has a narrow circle ofassociates mainly intellectuals, people like late Dr. Ibrahim Tahir, Dr. Mahmoud Tukur and the like.

More so, Mallam Mamman is a staunch advocateof good governance and never given to unbridled and corrupt accumulation tendencies. He values
integrity above all else. He is no doubt a pillar to PMB. Interestingly, all those throwing mud at him have not till date linked him to any misdemeanors.

They are just saying he is controlling the levers of power without a shred of evidence. if he was that corrupt I cannot see how PMB would have tolerated him as a close ally no matter the family ties. What we are faced with is this: For lack of any corrupt act to trace to PMB, create a "fall guy" from his closest people to achieve the same result.

Mallam Mamman just fit the bill in this regard. It is also a convenient way of playing up the so-called Northern hegemony in the national psyche and casting PMB in the mould of a sectional
leader. Perhaps some politicians had realized that with Mallam Mamman around the corner there is a limit to what they hope to achieve, hence the efforts at demonizing him. I am sure at the end of the day, the truth will come out.
