THE PRESIDENT VOICE OF THE YOUTH (COMR. ABDULLAHI KABIR FASKARI) HAS CALL ON THE YOUNG PEOPLE OF TODAY TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR LIFE.
In his statement,he added i will like to take advantage of this,to send a clear message to compatriot (youth) to accept responsibilities for their life, know that its you who will get yourself to where you want to go,no one else.
He pointed out that each and every time, a new generation has risen up and done what's needed to be done. Today we are called, and it is time for our own generation to answer that call. And that the time is now to shake off our slumber, slough our fears, and make Good on the debt we owe past and future generations. For that is our unyielding faith, that in face of impossible odds, people who love their country can change it.
He said, Today we have chance to face the challenges of this millennium together,as one people and as Nigerians.
The president pointed that,we all know what those challenges are today: a dependence on oil that threatens our future, schools where too many children aren't learning, and families struggling paychecks to paychecks despite working as hard as they can. We know the challenges and we've heard them. we have talked about them.
what stop us from meeting these challenges is not the absence of sound policies and sensible plans. what stopped us is the failure of leadership, the smallness of our politics the ease with which we're distracted by the petty and trivial, our chronic avoidance of tough decisions, our preference for scoring cheap political points instead of rolling up our sleeves and building a working consensus to tackle the big problems of our dear country,Nigeria.
He further said, countries spent decades developing to became great, while we spent decades looting our land dry Yet we want to be great in one year. For the past 20years we're distracted from our real failures, and told to blame the others. Have sense!!
And as people have looked away in disillusionment and frustration,we know what filled the void: the cynics, the lobbyist, the special interests who've turned our government into a game only they can afford to play. They write the checks and we get stuck with the bill. they get access while we get to write a letter. They think they own this government but we have taken it back together in the 2015 general election. We have shown them that the time for that kind of politics is over.
The President Voice Of The Youth, Comr. Abdullahi Kabir Faskari added that,Nigeria have a long long way to go,and it wont be easy. That's why we'll have to set priorities;we'll have to make hard choices. Al thought government will play crucial role in bringing about the changes that we need, more money and programs alone will not get us to where we need to go. Each of us in our daily lives will have to ''accept responsibility for instilling an ethic of achievement in our children, for adapting to a more competitive economy, for strengthening our communities and sharing some measure of sacrifice".
He said, The young people of today should always bare in mind that a journey to progress is not completed over night. There are setbacks and false starts, and sometimes even reverses.
So progress is not inevitable,he Added. History does not always march forward. History can travel sideways and sometimes backwards. Its often the young people of today know fully well that rights and freedom are not given; they have to be won through struggle and through discipline, and persistence and faith.
The president also noted,i see young leaders who embrace the diversity of our country not as weakness, but as a strength and those who realize that even though we are all individually different and come from different communities,we are stronger when we work together.
The president also pointed; the future of our country is not going to be determine by dictators,it's going to be determine by entrepreneurs and inventors and dreamers and people who are doing things in their community. And we are going to be the leaders who will make that happen(YOUTHS). Our generation has greater potential to shape society than any generation that's come before us and we have the power to get knowledge from everywhere, and we have more sophistication and experience than our parents or our grandparents. We now have the chance to share knowledge and experience with other young people all across the country and around the world. That wasn't true 20 years ago or 50 years ago. We have the chance to overcome hatred and make sure that freedom rather than repression, hope rather than fear is governing our country. We have the power to set our own country on a new and different part.
And in all of this,Nigerian government want to be our partner. They want to help us in any way that they can to help us shape our future, they want us to have the connections and the resources that we need to change the country and move the country forward.
I am announcing a program that will torches the lives of many unemployed graduates all across the country."The Youth Empowerment Initiative" under the auspices of the vice president prof. Yemi Osibanjo. A program that is set to empower not fewer than 1m unemployed graduates ranging from Secondary School Graduates afto Degree Holders all across the 36 states plus FCT before the end of December 2016.
